I have recently been trying to do more abstract paintings.  I really like the combination of colors and textures in these paintings.  It is fun to not be bound by anything and just have fun.

I have always loved the way paua shells shimmer in the light.  I decided to challenge myself to see if I could paint a snapshot of one.  I know I couldn't capture the shimmer effect, but the color is still amazing.
